Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I spontaneously decided to come eat here with my family. Its a great place to stop for sweets because the bakery makes a wide variety of tasty pastries, all very reasonably priced. The Mexican food was good, though nothing to shout about. It took a long time for the food to get to us, but my daughter who's a very picky eater loved the tacos de carne asada. My wife, who's not a fan of Mexican food in general enjoyed her enchiladas. I love love love that they make their own tortillas. Hands down the best part of this place, and you can order them to take home. I'll come back just for the tortillas :)

This restaurant is my favorite restaurant for Mexican food. Their food is so authentic and so delicious.. Their bakery is so good too and so cheap it amazes me of their price and how delicious it is.. I truly recommended..

My husband and I went here for a brunch. I ordered the number 2, steak with onions and such. He ordered a number 11, stuffed peppers. The cashier/waitress was short, but polite. We sat down and she brought us chips and our waters. So far so good. We polished off the chips and salsa by the time our food arrived. She asked if we'd like more chips and we assumed she meant more chips and salsa so we said sure. Our plates looked nice, a little sloppy, but correct. I was out of water by this point. She brought back the chips, but didn't bring salsa, which is what we really wanted. My steak plate was okay. Meat was really chewy and stayed in my teeth, but other than that, it was fine. My husband's peppers looked a little burnt and they tasted only "okay." My husband was almost done with his plate, about to take a finishing bite when he sees something odd. He pulls out a full toothpick from his bite. A TOOTHPICK. There wasn't a toothpick on top of the peppers, I remember. We will NEVER go here again. Oh, by the way, I was still out of water. I was never offered one.

Great food. Awesome atmosphere. Great service. Bakery selection is affordable and delicious. I would recommend this place. Will not disappoint.

Super bad service. Please never go there. The owner Delia Vegas treated me horribly. She personally took my order for my full sheet cake, made it completely wrong, never fixed and never gave it to me the DAY of my party!

OMG.. I have been here several times and I didn't realize i hadn't written a review! Shame on me! I have only been here for the Pan de Dolce (sweet bread). it is authentic from mexico or from texas... This place reminds me of home. Heres what you order: Conchas Pumpkin Empanadas Pink Sugar Cookies Yum, Yum, Yummy in my tummy!

Delish restaurant and bakery!! Highly recommend!!

Very good food and pan mexicano. But when my sister in law started to work there, she told us that the tips are not for the employees to keep. They have to place them in a designated drawer for the owner. As a former server this makes me so mad! So the tips are pretty much what they use to pay their employees.

Beware there are two people a man and a woman who are very disrespectful to customers and like to talk bad things about them. Dont come here anymore.

O.M.G. Needed some really good dessert for a book club meeting with a latin theme and oh MAN was giving La Sinaloense a try a great idea! I almost don't want to describe it here because the fun is in walking through the door and being completely blown over by the glass cases filled to the brim with pastries, cookies and cakes! It's the kind of place you need to take your kids so that you can just stand back and watch as their eyes bug out and they squeal with delight at the idea of picking out their own treats. The ladies behind the counter are so nice and patient, and also very helpful in describing what you'll experience when you bite into any one of the pastries. La Sinaloense is open late (9 p.m. on the Friday night I was there), every treat is 75 cents, they make tres leches cakes for birthdays for a very reasonable price (approx. $20) - single servings available as well - and they serve a wide range of Mexican food platters if you're in the mood for lunch or dinner before you attack the dessert you'll inevitably buy. I just love the many family run businesses in Colorado Springs and this is right up there with the best of them. You'll be so much better off satisfying your sweet tooth at La Sinaloense than picking up some preservative-laden crap at Wally World or at an expensive, less-than-stellar chain restaurant. Promise.

EVERYTHING here is delicious. I often order the sopes; the husband likes the tortas and friends usually get chilequiles. (Probably spelling that wrong...) Their breakfast burritos are solid, too. The best part, though, is the bakery. You can't go wrong with anything from there. The service is a bit slow, and you usually have to ask multiple times for water, but the food more than makes up for that.

I came here specifically looking for the bread. I was not disappointed. Super delicious and great prices!!!
(5)Ben J.
This place is awesome! A wonderful bakery and taqueria all rolled into one. The puerquitos (small pig shaped Mexican gingerbread cookies) are incredible. My wife and I have tried almost every item on the menu over the last couple of years and have been pleased every time. Two thumbs up!

I will preface this by saying that I didn't try any of the food. I was there for the pastries! Mexican bread is yummy. I've bought the Bimbo conchas and while they're fine they just can't compare to a concha from a panaderia (bakery). This panaderia had quite the selection, and I should know since my dad sells bread back in California. I like that the place is clean, as is the area where the bread itself is actually kept. I've seen some rather shady looking panaderias and I'm quite picky, so the cleanliness was super important to me. My husband and I ended up with about 8 pieces of bread and the total was about $6. Pricier than I'm used to (my dad used to sell them at 25 cents, but I recently found out that price has gone up (hasn't everything?)), but worth it. I got a cuernito and a concha and both were yummy. I may snag some of the ones my husband has left. :-) The only bad thing about this place is that it's rather far and I can't see making the trip often. Still, may rethink that because good Mexican bread is hard to find.

Got the smothered chicken burrito. Bit spicy but otherwise pretty good. Staff were friendly. The bakery smells amazing. I didn't try the bakery but most certainly will in the future. I'd recommend the restaurant to others.

Came in here to check it out. I like tacos and Mexican food, they sell tacos and Mexican food. First off, this place is kind of pricey for what I usually pay for a Mexican place. They do serve big plates but I feel like it is mainly beans and rice and then the main course on the side. So I didn't like that, I felt I payed a little too much for beans and rice. The cashier told us that she would bring us our drinks, when our food came out I had to go back to the front to remind her of our drinks. She finally brought them to us. It was not really that busy when we came in so I was a little disappointed about that. They do have a great selection of Mexican sweet breads and donuts which is very appetizing. I would rather choose Luna Market 10 over this place just based on food quality and service.
(2)David H.
Great authentic Mexican food. The tacos al pastor are great and the same every time. Highly recommend.
(4)Justin G.
the mexican food here really is quite good, if that's all they had they would pull a 4 star review no problem - where they really shine is the bakery/pastry shop that's part of the restaurant . A dizzying (and amazingly cheap ~35 cents for a pastry cheap) selection of fresh baked treats, doughnuts, eclaires, and other creations I don't even know the name of but gobble up with complete disregard to my diet. Grab some breakfast or lunch here, and if you need tasty treats for that meeting at work, skip the mega doughnut chain and try this place out!
(5)P. D.
They serve burritos and other Mexican food here. However, as the other review pointed out, the pastries from the bakery are really the reason I stop in here from time to time.
(5)Arianne R.
My review is for the panaderia (bakery) strictly, as it's the only part of La Sinaloense I've utilized. I was looking for a local panaderia, since the closest I could find was dried up breads from local grocery stores. I tried this place on a whim, and I'm so glad I did! They have a large selection that always taste fresh. At home, I just stick the bread in the microwave a couple of seconds to get if soft again and it's good for days. You biggest problem will be trying to decide which breads you want to try! Pros: Delicious bread Fair prices Cons: Parking can be an issue if you go during a busy time.
(5)LunchaMunch A.
Not authentic, by the southamerican accent and the music they were playing it's debatable if they're even really from Sinaloa, a state that predominantly uses seafood and it's well known for their particular ingredients and preparation, the place can accommodate groups, clean, service lacks luster, in the back there's a Panaderia (I did not purchase any bread). I ordered a mixed tacos plate and a shrimp cocktail, if you can't do those right I wouldn't bother trying the rest of the menu, I regret not going instead to the other place on the opposite side of the strip mall.

This is the only thing I miss about living in the springs... They're tortillas are hand made, the place is clean, everyone is nice and the pan is amazing compared to every other bakery in the springs.
(5)Dave B.
First visit to this city, looked to Yelp for a suggestion. The place is hard to get to due to traffic patterns but I say it's worth the extra effort. Very satisfied with simple meal, enchiladas, all fresh ingredients and served nice and warm. Wait staff was very pleasant. Oh, and check out the bakery for something to take home for dessert too. I'm very very pleased with this place and no down side. Next time I visit I'm coming back.
